Another week, more problems..

Ok, so this project was not as easy as i imagined it would be going into it. I realized that i not only have to count on myself, i have to count on the person i am tutoring to be available. Now, i do not blame this person, for it is their summer too. But it has got me thinking about revising my project just a tad. In the down time i have between meetings with the student, i will be doing more research beyond the test. Now i know this may make little sense, but let me explain. What is the ACT for? College entrance. I will be looking into what colleges, accept what scores, and how important the ACT is for being admitted into their institution. I feel this will be a positive thing for two reasons, ONE- Knowing what you have to shoot for, for your choice of college helps students to make goals. TWO- Not only being goal oriented will help with something to shoot for, college research will be good to know because next year starting as early as AUGUST, which is closer than we know, we will be choosing and applying to our dream schools. Knowing a little bit of information on these schools is always beneficial because you never know what the entrance ESSAY, will have on it.

Back to the act however, Just because it has been difficult to get together with the student, has not meant that it has been a failure of a project. I am learning a lot about the test myself in the process. I feel, that come march, or whenever we have to take it, i will be far more prepared then i would have been without this experience. So i will continue with the lesson planning and preparation as if i am still going to tutor the student every week as planned. However, if i am not able to meet with the student, i feel that this project will still have value.

As a side note, i hope everyone else is enjoying their summer and don't worry this isn't part of my 300 words, if you wish to count go ahead :D.
