second post

Since my dance doesn't start until August my main priority is my softball.

I've only had two practices since i posted last and i believe i've already improved so much since then. We ended up not having a tournament this weekend because of the holiday, but our practices made up for not having games. Last week our whole team was there, which we needed because of how many mistakes we have been making while playing games, during that practice our coaches worked us ten times harded then they have in about a year. We did about five or six different drills working with fielding, hitting, and base running. My team does very well when it comes to hitting but fielding..not so much, so we worked extra long on that. While in the field i was put at third base (i have never played infield in my whole life, so i was kind of worried about how it would go). Even though i was confused i tried my hardest to follow what was going on and try to copy what other girls have done while in the position. It felt kind of awkward but i caught on after awhile. Tuesdays practice was short because of how extremely hot it was outside but we worked on the same things, minus the base running. My hitting suprised me, i have been getting better with it but i didn't think it made much of a difference, but it did. I was pulling the ball towards right field(which is really good. I hit left handed which means if i'm timing the ball well it should go towards right field when i hit it). My coaches were impressed and so were my team mates. After we worked on batting for a short time we continued our fielding drills like the week before. I was happy to hear that i would be playing third base again since i had worked with it the past week. Once again i suprised myself with how well i did. I stopped every ground ball and made a good throw to first to make the out just how we were taught. My coach was also suprised with that and even told me that he would consider putting me in the postion during a game! I'm so glad that my project is going good and that i'm improving the way i am!
