Potato and Mushroom Gratin

today i made a dish called Potato and Mushroon Gratin. The ingredience were limited but the task definetly was not. after begining i shortly realized i had not gotten "dryed mushrooms" as the recipe asked for so i had to go to the grocery store and get the right ingredients. once i had started over again with the right kind of mushrooms, just like the other dish i had made from this cook book, the recipe was very hard to follow. if you didnt read the instructions very carefully you would miss important steps that would effect the outcome of the dish. luckly i caught my misreadings before its was to late. the gratin is still in the oven so i will update later weither i liked it or not. this dish is not something i would normally try so im curious to see what i think.
i did some research on the ingrediets in the Potato and Mushroom Gratin and i found that the yellow potatos i used are fat free, low in sodium, high in fiber, high in vitamin C, and chloesterol free. fat free foods are an abvious bonus in a healthy eating mission so i was glad to find that out. in a society where most people eat more sodium (salt) than is good for their health this low sodium food fits in perfectly with my healthy eating. to much sodium can lead to health problems such as high blood pressure that increases your chances of a heart attack or stroke. i learned tha the high fiber in these potatos decrease the "glycemic efffect" or the increase of sugar in the blood (which is a good thing). it also maintains the colons health and has even been proven to help lower chloesterol. Fiber also may help precent ulcers, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer! therefore the fiber in yellow potatos is very nuritious! the vitamin C in the potatoes help protect the immune system, prevents wrinkling, helps your eyes from getting cataracts, and is what produces collegen, the stuff in your bones and muscles that holds the cells toghether. therefore it keeps you strong and helps cure injuries of all kinds. Vitamin C can even help the common cold.
the white mushrooms in the Gratin are also hlow in sodium, and chloesterol, and high in fiber and vitamin C. this doubles the nutritous benifits that i talked about above! they are also a good source of zinc, magneseum, vitamin D, pottasium, and copper. zinc is good for the immune system, and supports normal growth in development during pregnancy. vitamin D maintains your calcium balance, helps your immune system, helps regulate your bloood pressure, and helps prevent multipe diseases including cancer, alzhiemers, and osteoperosis.
it turns out that my potato and Mushroom Gratin dish turned out to be very nutritious! it just came out of the oven so now lets just hope i like it lol
